| Poem by David Moodie |
Oh yes, dear Blueship, how fine
your warm new sweater, with
all its swirly patterns, divine!
Oh yes, dear Blueship, how mine!
this close pattern of behavior
with all it's consequence so blind!
Oh yes, dear Lifeboat, do rhyme
your defense with something grand
as dollars, donuts, sausage and crime!
Let the climate change, and let the change
be. Keep the change in fact! and let
the criminals party to define insane!
Oh yes, dear old Earth, so fine
we hope that you don't mind
our bright cars and wonderful wine!
Cheers to climate change, sometime
in the future, meanwhile, pass
the ammunition, and polish the shine!
Oh yes, dear Blueship--your crew-
what a lusty lot, and life so cheap!
play on! we're all in the same stew.
Here's for the miniaturist, the portrait
of a planet, pointilistic, every little bit-
a you and me, playing with fate!
